Finally! It’s actually starting to feel like Spring! It’s getting warmer out and so much more enjoyable. When I think of Spring, I think of bright colors, flowers, gardening, and just enjoying the warm fresh air. If that’s how you envision Spring and what you love about Spring, then I have the place for you! Only 10 minutes away from the Shippensburg Campus is none other than Lurgan Greenhouse. This amazing place has everything including, hundreds of flowers, fish, trees, vegetable plants, birdhouses, donuts, whoopie pies, produce, furniture, birdbaths, fountains, vases, and even small stone turtles! If you need anything to make your garden beautiful, this place will have it. They are based out of Orrstown and have plenty of parking for anyone who wants to go. For years, Lurgan Greenhouse has expanded and evolved into the gorgeous location that it is today. If you are just looking around, make sure to walk by their large fish pond, try and spot their deer farm in the back, walk under all of the hanging plants, and actually try one of the famous Amish whoopie pies! They’re open until 5:00 pm almost all year round and are closed on Sundays. Just make sure that when you come back next semester, you check them out in the Autumn too! They will have tons of pumpkins, gourds, and mums! Their staff are very friendly and are always more than willing to help out with any questions or concerns that you may have.
