Need some tunes inspo?

Hey ya'll! Madison here. I like to say music is the only language I am fluent in. English is okay, but it isn't quite my jam. (Haha see what I did there ;) My taste in music is all over the place. I enjoy a little this and a little that. As a commuter, I'm always discovering new jams and podcasts during my weekly treks to Ship. Recently, I amped up my Spotify account and want to share my favorite playlists ranked in order. I'll be posting my weekly take on the music world and some fresh finds. Feel free to reach out to me with your own recommendations and discoveries!

1) Feel Good Tunes- I curated this gem for my friends over the summer and consider it my pure masterpiece at the moment. It's perfect for long road trips with friends, laying on the beach, summer adventures, feeling young and free, or just simply to lift your spirits. This is my "I feel like a teenager in a movie" playlist for sure. I'm adding songs to this one weekly and have recently been using it when I take walks. I think this playlist can be for anyone regardless if you're genre specific.

2) If you got heart, and soul, you can Rock n Roll- I'm no expert when it comes to the Rock industry, but I've come a long way. Growing up, I always disliked this genre. After seeing Skillet a gazillion times, I became adapted to it and started exploring more on Spotify. This is a wide array of classics, 2000s, and Christian Rock. (Ah, and I can't forget about the random Camp Rock song it was named after.) For people who indulge themselves in this genre, you might laugh, but I'm proud.

3) YeeYee Brethren- Ok, yes I jokingly named it that, but I could go on about this one for hours. Look, I listen to country music with no shame. The genre gets a massively bad rap for its stereotypes. Even if you don't fit the culture, you can still enjoy country tunes. Also, it doesn't matter what people define as "real" country. To me, country music has many subgenres. I consider this a mix of cowboy country, old country, pop  country, and redneck country.

4) "LOVE NEVER FELT SO GOOD" -MJ- Now THIS is new. I'm not a hopeless romantic by any means and I've never been a proponent for love songs. However, I DO like Michael Jackson. After listening to him one day, Spotify started mixing in suggestions based on his music. Next thing I know, I'm spiraling down a dark, mysterious hole. This playlist consists mostly of older romance classics surrounding the 60s plus a few modern hits.

5) if I were a teenager when I was born- My parents used to be youth leaders. Growing up, these were the jams (aside from church songs) I heard the teens listening to. 2000s jams hit different and can easily take us for a ride down nostalgic lane. I consider it the OG emo. Honestly, it was emo before we knew it was emo.
